(EN) Was born in Rio de Janeiro on February 27th, 1954. Came to Portugal (Alvarenga – Arouca) when he was 3 years old. Completed High-School in Lamego. Played soccer in Sporting Clube de Lamego.
In the soccer club Desportivo Santa Cruz de Alvarenga, Noronha injured his knee thus forcing him to abandon soccer. Already as a medical doctor, this event lead his interest in orthopedics to grow, particularly in knee and ligamentar pathologies.
Completes his PhD in Biomedic Sciencies in 1999, at the Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar Institute, with the Thesis: “Isometria na Reconstrução do Ligamento Cruzado Anterior”.
